“Spiritual Intervention” Synopsis

Published August 29, 2016 by glennmaynard

They can’t shake that menacing spirit. Now it’s got a hold of their son.

They tried to get away, but it follows them wherever they go.

Carter and Brenda thought it was a clean break and a new start. They were dead wrong. They escaped their old life in Boulder and returned to Boston. Signs emerged indicated that this mission failed when their young son, Adam, began to speak. He would say things and act in a way that made Carter and Brenda believe they were not just a family of three.

When seven-year-old Adam is kidnapped in the middle of the night, there is no more denying that the spirit of Martin had reared his very ugly head, again. This story culminates in a showdown that has only one possibility of finding peace in their lives.

They must find a way to move Martin into the afterlife. However, there’s one problem.

Martin has no intension of going.

If you loved Desert Son and Wayward Soul, you will need to discover the ending to Spiritual Intervention, which is the third book of the trilogy.

A Two-Booksigning Weekend

Published February 20, 2016 by glennmaynard

It’s nice to be busy when you’re out promoting your work. Saturday I will be speaking and signing books at Book Club Bookstore in Broad Brook, CT from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. On Sunday, i’ll be truckin’ out to the Worcester RV Show at the DCU Center from 11AM to 5 PM. It’s busy, but it’s a good busy, and a productive busy. Hope to see some of you out there at one of the shows (not all of you…that would be something, though). At least I don’t have to battle winter weather. Then it will be Monday, and we’ll do it all over again. Hit the reset button!

Here are some cool links for the venues:

First Draft of Book Four: Check.

Published December 9, 2015 by glennmaynard

As I prepare to lock down the text for my third book, Wayward Soul, I have been back and forth with my publisher (Black Rose Writing) with a December 29th deadline. I’ve also been back and forth with their Cover Designer. Today I received a great looking cover, but asked for some changes so that the cover was more in line with the theme of the book. It looked awesome, but just minor tweaks needed. I also finished the first draft of my fourth book, which is book three of the Desert Son trilogy (untitled). The books grew in size from the first to the last, and here is the breakdown:

Desert Son: 60,000 words.

Wayward Soul: 88,000 words.chapterone-writing-a-book-300x199

Book three: 101,500 words.

There will not be a fourth book to my trilogy. Carter and Brenda are my main characters, and they’ve been through hell and back. After the third book, they will be ready to retire anyway.

Note on my first published book, nonfiction, Strapped Into An American Dream (Strategic Book Publishing): I am currently slated to not only have a book signing at the CT RV Show in January, but I will be speaking four times during the weekend, and look for me in the advertising. We’re currently in the works to set up a book giveaway for the first #people to pass through the door. The number of books they will be purchasing is in the works, but could be triple digits. The owner of the publishing company for this book is also trying to get my book in rv parks/campgrounds with a kiosk of books. Things are starting to happen for book #1. All of this has been a ton of work, but if you keep on keeping on, good things will start to happen, and that time is starting to bloom for me.

Synopsis for my upcoming book, “Wayward Soul”

Published August 30, 2015 by glennmaynard

Wayward Soul

When Carter Spence and Brenda Raycroft visit a Psychic named Angie, their reading turns tragic upon touch as Angie suffers convulsions and frantically runs into the street and gets hit by a car. Why did she react that way? Their fate is sealed in a coma, so they must use any means possible to reach Angie in the spirit world as they dodge deadly complications in an attempt for answers.

This eerie sequel to  Desert Son occurs four years after Carter and Brenda discover that they are a couple reunited beyond the grave in Boulder, Colorado. Carter and Brenda race against time as they need to get this information before Angie dies and takes the reading with her. They decide to share the house with tenants to help with the bills. It’s a family of four with mysterious four-year-old twin boys. When the spirit of old man Martin returns to haunt them, Carter and Brenda must block his spirit from their world and try to prevent him from tampering with the body of Angie. The spirit world becomes intertwined with their own once again as they attempt to tap into Angie’s secrets to uncover disturbing truths about their fate.
