A New Release is a Busy Time for Authors

What a wonderful problem for me to have: I was trying to get the second book of my “Desert Son” paranormal romance series published when I decided to get started on the third book of this trilogy. When I was about 40,000 words into this third book, I received a contract offer from Black Rose Writing for the second book, Wayward Soul. I decided to start the editing process for the second book and try to continue the writing of my third book (with a 5,000 words per week quota). While doing these two things and working my full time job, I also had to continue marketing Desert Son as well as my non-fiction travel book, “Strapped Into An American Dream.”

Tonight I completed editing my 280-page novel, which must be sent back to my publisher by November 1st. I have edited the complete manuscript five times, and I believe it is near perfection. I am very happy with the outcome; thrilled with the pace and the characters and the non-stop action and very bizarre scenes. However, I do have ten more days and may try to go through it a sixth time. Thank God there’s a deadline. Otherwise I would work on it until hell freezes over.

This is what I choose to do, so this chaos is a wonderful problem for me to have.
